PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you visit gpta6.com (the "Site") and play GPTA6 (the "Game"). The short version: the Game has no accounts, requires no personal information, and keeps no database of players.
1. What We Don't Collect
- No accounts, registration, or login.
- No email addresses, real names, phone numbers, or postal addresses.
- No payment information — the Game is free and sells nothing.
- No microphone or camera access. In-game voices are pre-generated audio files, not recordings of players.
- No databases or server-side logs of player activity are kept.
2. Gameplay Data (Session Only)
To make multiplayer work, the following is sent to our game server and relayed in real time to other players in your session: the display name you type in (max 16 characters), your chosen character, and your in-game state (position, vehicle, health, weapon, kills, and similar gameplay events). This data lives only in the server's memory for the duration of your session and is discarded when you disconnect or the game room closes. It is never written to a database. Your display name is visible to other players — don't type anything you wouldn't want strangers to see.
Like virtually every internet service, our server necessarily processes your IP address to maintain your connection while you play. We do not log it or use it for any other purpose.
3. Data Stored in Your Browser
The Game uses your browser's localStorage (not cookies) to remember, on your own device only:
- your graphics and audio settings;
- your last-chosen character;
- whether you've seen the help screen;
- basic crash diagnostics (load timing, memory usage, and your browser's user-agent string) used solely to detect crashes on your device.
None of this leaves your browser, and you can erase it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for gpta6.com.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google Analytics (GA4). We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site traffic (pageviews, sessions, approximate region, device type). Google may set cookies or similar identifiers and processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking analytics in your browser.
- Google Fonts. Fonts are loaded from Google's servers, which means your browser sends a standard web request (including your IP address) to Google when the page loads.
5. In-Game Ads & Sponsored Links
Billboards inside the Game are static images we place ourselves — there is no ad network, no programmatic advertising, and no ad tracking inside the Game. The Site also displays sponsored links to third-party websites; if you click one, you leave the Site and the destination's own privacy policy applies. Sponsored links may include standard campaign tags (UTM parameters) that tell the destination site the visit came from gpta6.com — these identify the Site, not you.
6. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Site, contact us and we will address it.
7. Your Choices & Rights
Because we keep no personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, or delete — your gameplay data evaporates when your session ends, and browser-stored data is under your control. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with anyone, for any purpose, including in the sense of "sell" or "share" under the California Consumer Privacy Act. The Site is operated from the United States; if you access it from elsewhere, you understand that your connection is processed in the United States.
8. Security
Connections to the Site use standard web security (HTTPS where deployed). Because we store no personal data, there is no meaningful personal data to breach — but no internet service can guarantee perfect security, and you use the Site at your own risk.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy at any time by posting a revised version on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
